Tomato & Mozzarella Bruschetta

Tomato & Mozzarella Bruschetta

There’s nothing quite like fresh bruschetta for a simple yet satisfying appetizer. With ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil, this recipe highlights the importance of a sharp knife and a sturdy cutting board for clean, even slices.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 3 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Lay the baguette slices on a baking tray and lightly drizzle them with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5–7 minutes or until golden.
  2. Meanwhile, use a sharp knife to dice the tomatoes and slice the mozzarella. Having a quality cutting board ensures stability and clean cuts, preventing juices from spilling.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the diced tomatoes with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Once the baguette slices are toasted, top each slice with the tomato mixture, followed by a slice of mozzarella. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  5. Serve immediately. This bruschetta is perfect as an appetizer or snack, best enjoyed while the bread is still warm.

Investing in a reliable knife and sturdy cutting board makes prepping dishes like bruschetta a breeze. Neatly sliced toppings not only look more appealing but also enhance the overall flavor.
