Damascus Knife and Olive Wood Board Set

The forging process involves layering carbon steel, applying intense heat, and repeatedly folding the metal to create a strong, multi-layered blade. This traditional technique enhances the steel's durability, sharpness, and resilience, resulting in a blade that holds its edge longer and resists wear over time.

The VG-10 steel used in Miyamoto knives is carefully selected for its outstanding ability to retain sharpness. Known for its high carbon content, VG-10 ensures a fine edge that stays sharp even after frequent use. Its resistance to rust and corrosion makes it ideal for kitchen environments, where knives are exposed to moisture and acids from food preparation.

Miyamoto Musashi, one of the most legendary samurai in Japanese history, was renowned for his unmatched skill, discipline, and artistry in swordsmanship. His philosophy, blending precision, strength, and elegance, serves as the inspiration behind our knives. At Miyamoto, we honour his legacy by crafting tools that embody the spirit of a warrior—sharp, resilient, and beautifully designed.

Each knife reflects the same dedication to craftsmanship that Musashi applied to his blades, merging traditional forging techniques with modern innovation. Just as Miyamoto mastered the art of balance and precision, our knives are designed to offer unmatched performance and timeless beauty in every slice.

It would be a good idea to wash your Miyamoto knives immediately after each use, using mild soap and warm water. Dry them thoroughly to prevent any moisture from lingering on the VG-10 steel. Avoid placing them in the dishwasher, as high heat and detergents may damage both the steel and the handle. Occasionally honing the blade with a whetstone will help it stay sharp and minimise the need for frequent professional sharpening. Storing your knives in a protective block or on a magnetic rack will keep the edges in top condition and ensure they remain safely out of harm’s way.
